Business License

If you conduct business within the corporate limits of the City of Spanish Fort, you are required to have a valid and current Business License on file with the City. Licenses must be renewed each year.  See Ordinance No. 476-2014.

Application for initial City of Spanish Fort Business License may be obtained by contacting the City Clerk at the Administrative Department at 251.626.4884. You may save or print a copy of the Business License Application Form here.

The Business License fee is $112.00 per calendar year, which includes a $12 issuance fee. The Business License fee is prorated to $62.00 after July 1st.

Original signed and executed forms should be returned along with payment to the City of Spanish Fort, 7581 Spanish Fort Boulevard, Spanish Fort, Alabama, 36527. Checks, Cashier Checks, or Money Orders are accepted methods of payment. Only the original copy of the application will be accepted - No faxed or duplicated copy of the application form will be accepted. 

Receipt of the application form will initiate the process of registering your business with the City of Spanish Fort. A business having a physical address within the corporate limits of the City will be reviewed to confirm that the type of business activity complies with all applicable laws of the City. To confirm your zoning district or to determine whether or not your business is located within the corporate limits of the City, please contact the City Clerk at 251.626.4884. 

Renewal Notices are mailed to licensees at the end of November for the following year.  All business license renewals are due January 1st and delinquent after February 15th with the following exceptions:

Insurance company licenses are due by January 1st and are considered delinquent after March 1st.
